Norma is an opera composed by Vincenzo Bellini. This essay is going to look for the music and dramatic aspects of the duet in Act II which is sung by characters Norma and her make dor Pollione. The opera is about a Druid High Priestess named Norma who falls in fuck with a Roman Pollione. At this time the Romans invaded the druids and therefore Norma and Pollione are mortal enemys. They hook up having two sons which are hidden and are a secret. Pollione falls in love with Adalgisa a young synagogue virgin who works under Norma. Therefore Pollione betrays Norma. Adalgia tells Norma about her love and realises that it cannot happen. Adalgia does not want to betray Norma and therefore rejects Pollione. Norma attempts to kill her children, scarce stops because of her love for them. Instead she tells Adalgia to look after her children with Pollione, exclusively Adalgia wants to stay loyal to Norma and so she goes to tell Pollione to do his duty. Pollione att empts to seize Adalgia but is caught and is prisoner to the druids.
